New Life music groupThe New Life music group exists to provide a ministry of music for the Church on Oakwood. The group meets every other Thursday in the main worship area of the Church building and practises a wide range of hymns and songs for use at the Sunday Morning Worship and other occasions as required. There are around 9 people who regularly take part in the group, with a similar number who operate the essential sound equipment and the PC/projector.
The group chooses the music and leads Preparation for Sunday morning worship. Our instruments include a saxophone, a keyboard, a guitar, a bass guitar and drums/other percussion. We are always looking for more people interested in either singing or playing instruments, of all standards. Please speak to one of the group members on Sunday if you would like to be involved.

We have continued with the Rolling Stone Cafes through the last year and they have been well supported. We're especially keen to see these as opportunities for outreach as these occasions are suitable for people at all stages in their walk of faith, including those who are 'just looking.' We hope to foster an atmosphere that is relaxed and welcoming, so that everyone can enjoy music, drama, poetry,...and cake. This year we have scheduled them to coincide with non-Christian festivals and celebrations: Valentine's Day, Mid-summer and Halloween.
We enjoy developing our music repertoire. So far we have managed to introduce new music at a fairly fast pace over the year, normally by singing songs first of all during Preparation at the start of the worship time. If anyone has new songs - or even old songs that they wish to sing in Church, please talk to anyone in New Life.
In New Life we believe very strongly that what we do is there to help individual and corporate worship. If anyone has any comments about the music ministry please talk to me, so that the music group stays in tune with the needs of the whole Church family.
I would like to thank all those who are involved in all aspects of the music ministry at the Church on Oakwood and particularly for the continued support of their families.
