Children & Young People

The Church believes that nurturing the Christian faith of our young people is a vital part of its mission. To help parents and carers in their task of passing on the faith we offer a group for children at our 10.30am service.

 J.A.M. - Jesus and Me!

This group held every Sunday morning (apart from All Age service) is for children aged 3 to 11 years, and is about helping youngsters develop their relationship with Jesus. They listen to and participate in telling a story from the Bible, pray, learn a memory verse and use different creative activities to help explore life as a Christian. Sheila Harper is co-ordinator for this group, ably assisted by other volunteers.

Join us!

You would be most welcome to bring your child to any of the groups, no advance notice is necessary. If you would like your child to become a regular member of a group, please ask a leader for a registration form.

There is also a creche available at the 10.30am service for babies and younger children, if parents need to take them out of the main worship service.

Messy Church meets monthly on a Saturday from 11am to 1pm. It is aimed at children aged under 11, and parents/carers stay for the session. Expect crafts, songs, games, cakes, drinks and all round messiness while we get to know more about the Christian faith.

Flame Seekers meets alternate Fridays for food, films, fun and chilling!

The safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is obviously of high priority and concern to the Church, and all our volunteer leaders and assistants have an enhanced clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau/Disclosure and Barring System. Our Safeguarding Co-ordinator for children is Sheila Harper and for adults is Sue Barber.

Volunteers needed!

Though we are lucky to have so many dedicated volunteers helping children and young people to learn about the love of God and the teachings of Jesus, we are always in need of extra help. If you would like to volunteer as a leader, or as an assistant (which involves no preparation), we would be grateful if you could let one of the children's leaders know or talk to one of the Stewards on Sunday. Alternatively you can contact Reverend Peter Bates.
